The research found that a significant number of UK social enterprises are exporting goods and services, but greater support is needed to help them break into new markets overseas. Of the 113 social enterprises surveyed by Steve, almost half (46%) saw an increase in income from trading overseas in the last quarter and two thirds (65%) expected to see an increase in the next quarter.
Nick Temple, Deputy Chief Executive at Social Enterprise UK says,
“Steve Allman did a fantastic job for Social Enterprise UK on the Exporting Social Enterprise report we co-produced with the British Council. He has excellent writing and speaking skills, matched by a keen understanding of social enterprise from the frontline. Steve is professional and easy to work with, I have no hesitation in recommending Steve to others.”
