Home-Start Bristol has commissioned Steve Allman a number of times:
Evaluation Appraisal | August 2016
Home-Start Bristol asked Steve Allman to appraise their self-evaluation of their Big Lottery Fund project. Steve read the report in detail and produced an annotated summary of suggestions and improvements prior to Home-Start Bristol using the evaluation as part of their next Big Lottery Fund application.
Evaluation Workshop | January 2016
Home-Start Bristol commissioned Steve Allman to deliver a bespoke Evaluation Workshop, enabling Trustees to review evaluation activities and processes to ensure the charity was effectively capturing, and using, data relating to impact. Kathryn Armitstead, lead Trustee for evaluation at Home-Start Bristol, said of the workshop:
“We were impressed with Steve’s in-depth knowledge of Home-Start, combined with a real enthusiasm and ability to share this knowledge with others. Steve reviewed Home-Start Bristol’s evaluation approaches and reports, giving us constructive feedback and helpful insights and specific ideas to develop.”
South West Regional Cluster Event | June 2015
Home-Start Bristol hosted a cluster event for all Home-Start schemes in the South West and very kindly invited Steve Allman to present his “A to Z of Evaluating the Impact of Home-Start”. The talk was well-received by Home-Start staff and trustees who gave very positive feedback.
Evaluation Workshop | August 2014
Steve Allman designed and delivered a bespoke one-day Evaluation Workshop to enable staff and trustees at Home-Start Bristol to plan a self-evaluation of their Big Lottery Fund project. Bev Symonds, Scheme Manager, shares her experience of working with Steve:
“Steve certainly knows his stuff and he delivered the training in great style. His delivery kept me focussed all day and not only did the training meet our expectations and deliver on the brief, but the learning will have an immediate impact on our work.
The most important aspect for me was learning the value of gathering relevant data from the outset and Steve showed us how easily this can be built into Home-Starts existing systems and tools, what to collect and when and various creative ways to present it.”
