Home-Start Exeter & East Devon has commissioned Steve Allman to evaluate their Big Lottery Fund project twice; firstly in 2014 (Year 3) and most recently in March 2016 (Year 5).

On both occasions, our external evaluation engaged a number of families, volunteers and local partners, who all shared their experiences of how Home-Start Exeter & East Devon has impacted on local families. Jan Campbell Young, Chair of Home-Start Exeter and East Devon, shares her experience of working with Steve Allman:

“As Chair, I find working with Steve Allman stimulating and interesting as he presents us with ideas and approaches to issues we’re facing and gives feedback in a very constructive manner. After our first external evaluation, we implemented Steve’s recommendations and saw an improvement in our volunteer satisfaction.

I also valued his comments on the functioning of Home-Start Exeter and East Devon’s board, which we have also addressed. Steve is very familiar with the challenges charities face and provides a professional and personable approach to his work with clients.”

I'm passionate about the potential of charities and social enterprises and run my own consultancy helping them to evaluate impact and develop strategy. I'm particularly passionate about social inclusion and engaging vulnerable and marginalised groups. Also a proud Dad and future MAML :)
