Home-Start North West Kent commissioned Steve Allman to undertake an external evaluation of their five-year Big Lottery Fund project.
The project had helped local families to improve their quality of life by reducing isolation, improving participation in the local community and promoting positive parenting.
Our external evaluation saw Steve visit a number of families at home to discuss the impact of Home-Start North West Kent and also interview volunteers and external partners, including funders and referrers, before producing a detailed report on the charity’s impact, including our recommendations for sustaining the level of impact in future. Debbie Bowler, Scheme Manager, describes her experience of the evaluation:
“We’re extremely pleased (and proud) of Steve Allman’s external evaluation of our Big Lottery Fund project supporting isolated and vulnerable families across North West keen. Steve has been a pleasure to work with. He interviewed a wide cross section of our volunteers, families and external partners. He’s full of good suggestions and it certainly helps that he knows Home-Start so well, we’d highly recommend him. We can already see how the evaluation will be useful for so much more than applying to the Big Lottery Fund and we’re looking forward to sharing it far and wide.”
