Home-Start Shepway commissioned Steve Allman to write an external evaluation of their Big Lottery Fund project which supports women experiencing domestic abuse.
We interviewed a number of women at home and at Home-Start Shepway‘s office in Folkestone to hear about the project’s impact first hand, in addition to engaging staff, trustees and external partners.
Our evaluation concluded that the project had achieved high levels of impact and, soon after, we were thrilled when the charity contacted us with news that the Big Lottery Fund had awarded them with a further five-year grant of £499,000.
Sam O’Connor, Scheme Manager, shares her experience of working with Steve:
“Steve met and talked to several of our women who had experienced traumatic domestic abuse and they spoke openly and honestly with him as he made them feel comfortable to discuss such sensitive issues. Steve’s communication with the scheme was excellent, as was his relaxed approach to working with staff, families, trustees, volunteers and referrers with ease and confidence.
He worked efficiently with seamless contact from start to finish. It was a pleasure to work with Steve, with his professionalism, knowledge of the subject, good understanding of Home-Start and the ethos of our work.”
