The Magdalene Group commissioned Steve Allman to evaluate its Big Lottery Fund project which supports women sex workers and children at risk of sexual exploitation.

The Rose Project empowers young female sex workers to improve their emotional well being and supports care leavers to reduce their risk of sexual exploitation.

We interviewed a number of sex workers during the course of the evaluation and also engaged a number of young people and external partners who all spoke highly of the project and its impact. Suzi Heybourne, Chief Executive shares her experience of working with Steve:

“Steve Allman understands the landscape of the voluntary sector and can quickly grasp the themes, issues and challenges that are unique to your charity. I soon found Steve to be a consultant in which I could handover the project brief with full piece of mind that he would deliver the result. He was able to lead the pace and provide a style and solution to meet our needs, as well as go over and above to meet with stakeholders and present his findings in a clear, accessible and informal way.”

I'm passionate about the potential of charities and social enterprises and run my own consultancy helping them to evaluate impact and develop strategy. I'm particularly passionate about social inclusion and engaging vulnerable and marginalised groups. Also a proud Dad and future MAML :)
